OREANDA-NEWS. January 29, 2010. Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Sergey Chemezov, Director General of the Russian Technologies State Corporation signed an Agreement of Cooperation at the Gazprom Headquarters.

The Agreement is aimed at coordinating the parties’ activities in the development, production and supply of modern high-tech import-substituting equipment and other products by the Russian Technologies Group of companies for Gazprom.

The document stipulates creating the conditions to utilize the sci-tech potential of the Russian Technologies leading companies in the operating activities of Gazprom, its subsidiaries and organizations.

The parties will interact in elaborating proposals and taking actions relevant to equipment and product manufacture and supply in the interests of Gazprom.

The crucial cooperation areas will include modernization of the available gas-turbine equipment and assurance of the operating efficiency of the existing production and technological complexes (in particular, advancement of technical means for gas facility inspection, development and introduction of new technologies and equipment for power supplies to Gazprom’s facilities).

Gazprom and Russian Technologies will cooperate in shaping and implementing innovative projects across the entire gas chain, from upstream to downstream: gas field development, gas transportation system, gas and gas condensate processing and IT technologies.

A bilateral Coordinating Council will be set up as part of the Agreement.

The Agreement came into effect from the moment of signing and is effective for an indefinite period.

“Application of high technologies is a significant competitive advantage and an essential part of efficient company development on the global energy market. This is absolutely the case with Gazprom. We deliver unique and sophisticated energy projects utilizing innovative approaches and unparalleled equipment produced domestically and abroad.

Today’s Agreement is a crucial step aimed at considerably increasing the innovative potential of both our Company and Russia. I am convinced that the mutually-beneficial cooperation between Gazprom and Russian Technologies will strongly bolster the domestic science, industry and energy sectors,” stated Alexey Miller.

“It should be underlined that the maximal utilization of the Russian Technologies leading companies’ sci-tech potential will be an integral part of our cooperation during the introduction of advanced field development and gas transportation technologies.

When developing this Agreement we realized that the vital importance of the preset tasks required intensive interaction and precise coordination of actions at all stages of joint projects delivery. This directly influences the success in assuring rational and environmentally safe nature management in the industrial sector, emissions reduction and pollutants dumping as well as increasing the service life of infrastructure and gas pipelines. There is no time to waste. We have to start working today, not tomorrow,” noted Sergey Chemezov.
