OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2010. The Head of Port Security Service Alvydas Jocys attended MSAPC (Maritime Security & Anti-Piracy Conference) held in Washington (USA), reported the press-centre of Klaipeda Port.   
 
The aim of the conference was to gather high-ranking international audience – representatives of the shipping, insurance sectors, developers of the latest technologies, strategists and analysts from the United States of America, NATO, the European Union and Africa countries for a common discussion.

The issues discussed and analysed in the Maritime Security & Anti-Piracy Conference included challenges faced by the shipping industry, changes in the international sea transport system; participants of the conference had a possibility to establish relations with developers and strategists of the shipping policy, discuss impact of crisis on the shipping sector, threats of piracy to global port security and other related issues, familiarise themselves with the latest threat assessment technologies in ports.
