OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2010. An ice skating rink and a sports centre with a swimming pool are planned to be commissioned respectively in Ryazansky and Nizhegorodsky townships of southeastern Moscow in late 2010 or early 2011.

According to the local prefecture, two sports and fitness centres were commissioned in Yuzhnoportovyy and Nekrasovka townships in 2009.

Besides, it is planned to develop skateboard areas in every township of Moscow’s southeastern district, to put five bicycle lanes, to equip the local park and recreation areas with badminton courts this year.

Last year the southeastern district was named Moscow’s best place for sports activities as it includes 28 tennis courts, 16 sports centres, 15 stadiums, 15 swimming pools, 6 roofed ice rinks, 3 facilities for equestrian sport and 2 velodromes.
