OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2010. As of December 31, 2009 the National Bank's currency reserves amounted to US1 billion 480,3 million, and as of January 22, 2010 to US 1 billion 466.1 million.

At the same time, in the first half of January, NBM currency reserves grew by US 13 million, or by 0,88% making US 1 billion 493.3 million as of January 15, 209.Thus, from 15 to 22 January NBM currency reserves decreased by USD 27.2 million, or 1.8%.

As it was previously reported, in 2009 the NBM currency reserves fell by US 192.16 million, or 11.5%, amounting to US 1 billion 480,3 million in 2008. In 2008 Moldova’s currency reserves has increased by US 338.72 million, or 25.4%, making at the beginning of 2008, approximately US 1 billion 333.68 million. The absolute historical maximum of US 1.8 billion currency reserves was reached at the end of September 2008.
