OREANDA-NEWS. February 08, 2010. Belarus has named suppliers of alcoholic beverages for 2010, the Trade Ministry said in a statement.

Twenty-three suppliers will import liquors in 2010, down from 25 in July-December 2009.

The list of suppliers includes OAO Prodtovary, OOO ServiceBytSnab, UP Minsk cold store factory #1, OAO Brest Bakaleya, OOO Evrotorg, OOO OP NII PKD, state-owned Belarustorg, UP Diakonia, ChUP Belkoopvneshtorg Belkoopsoyuza, OAO BelBakaleya, IP Garsia, joint venture PernodRicardMinsk, RUP Minsk Kristall.

Thirty-five companies are allowed to supply alcohol-containing products [wine materials, brandy concentrates, cognac spirits, ethyl alcohol, mixtures and other spirit-containing substances] in 2010, up from 31 in the second half of 2009.

President Alexander Lukashenko earlier signed decree #3 to abolish import quotas on alcohol, non-food alcohol-containing substances, and non-food ethyl alcohol.

To protect the economic interests of the country and preserve control over import flows, all imports of alcohol and alcohol-containing products will be authorized by a special commission that will select importers by tender.
