OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2010. A new consultant, selected in open tender procedure, has joined the team working on the project of the power interconnection of Poland and Lithuania.

The agreement was signed with a consortium of Ernst & Young Business Advisory from Poland and Lithuania.

The consultant task will be to assist the Transmission System Operators and Project Development Company LitPol Link to prepare the Financial and Operational Models.

Operational and Financial Models of the Investment are aimed at enabling shareholders to decide on the way of realization and operation of the investment. It will include the estimation of the costs of realization of the investment and the costs of operation of the investment in the period of amortization. It will elaborate on market functioning, legal, tax and other issues. It will also help to select an optimal operational model of the realization of the investment in the means of costs, considering  the constraints resulting from the specificity of the project.

Litpol Link Management Board CEO commented that “The preparation of the Project entered a critical phase as preparation of Financial and Operational Model is a crucial step not only for the Initial Phase of the Project, but also for the whole investment and future operation of the power link.”
