OREANDA-NEWS. February 17, 2010. The State Corporation “Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)” and OAO Russian Bank for Development within the framework of VII Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum held a round table “New Impetuses for SME Development in the Regions”, reported the press-centre of RBD.   

The round table was attended by Vladimir Psarev, Deputy of the RF President Plenipotentiary in the Siberian federal okrug; Andrei Gnezdilov, acting Vice-Chairman of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk kray; Albina Nikkonen, Executive Director, Russian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association; Mikhail Mamuta, CEO, Russian Microfinance Center and NAMMS; Olesya Teploukhova, Director, SME Financing Department, RBD. The discussion was attended as well by representatives from VTB24, regional banks, leasing companies, SME support funds, managers of Siberian small and medium enterprises. Mikhail Kopeikin, Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman acted as a host of the round table.

The participants discussed the progress of SME Lending Support Program implemented by RBD. According to O. Teploukhova currently the partners of RBD in the Siberian federal okrug are 20 banks that have received 2/3 of the funds assigned for the region. Moreover RBD is cooperating with 5 SME infrastructure support entities. “Presently we are reviewing applications from 3 banks and 4 SME infrastructure support entities of the SFO”, she said. 

According to the participants of the round table the following is required to boost SME development: complex measures and creating a favorable environment by means of not only financial but also by information, consultancy and other forms of support. The initiators of the round table expressed their collective opinion that topical problems specified at the meeting will be taken into consideration by Vnesheconombank and RBD in the course of SME lending support.
