OREANDA-NEWS. February 17, 2010. Chairman of the Board of Directors of SAHO Group of Companies Pavel Skurikhin informed on the initiative of a number of enterprises of Agroindustrial complex to create a new branch association – National Union of Grain producers of Russia (NUGR).

The information was made within the frame of speech of the Head of SAHO on the First Russian-Japanese congress on agriculture which was held on 9 February 2010 in Moscow.

In Pavel Skurikhin view, ambitious targets for development of export potential of national grain branch require a new approach to the grain production and increase Russian grain export. This approach was formulated a year ago at the World Grain Forum in St. Petersburg. Its essence is to produce only the products demanded by the market, oriented to the specific requirements of customers, located at the logistic proximity from the production site.

“A new approach to grain farming of Russia on the basis of regional specialization and segmentation of production solves many problems of Russia Agroindustrial complex at the system level, creating a strong groundwork for the development of the industry and opens new markets, — says Pavel Skurikhin. — It is evident that singly market participants will not be able to solve such problems. That is why at present on the initiative of a number of enterprises of Agroindustrial complex the National Union of Grain producers of Russia is created, the main task of which will be coordination and self-regulation of grain producers”.

According to Pavel Skurikhin, among the main directions of NUGR work is the system creation, by which grain branch of Russia will provide not only necessary volume and assortment of grain, but grain production and sale with a guarantee of high profitability.
