OREANDA-NEWS. February 17, 2010. Southern Telecommunications Company ensures implementation of important national programs in the south of Russia. Thus, within the framework of the national program "Education" more than 5,200 schools of the Southern federal district were connected to the Internet network. Besides within the framework of the federal program “Electronic Russia” 1,360 regional post offices were connected to the Internet network, 60 subdivisions of the Federal migratory service and 240 subdivisions of the Federal Treasury were connected to the single telecommunications network.

The Company works regularly on implementation of the national program “Electronic Government”. Administrations of the SFD regions have been given an opportunity to use telecom services for effective accomplishment of the tasks set within the framework of this national program. In addition, the Company lays out fiber optic lines and creates VPN networks in order to provide modern telecom services to all organizations – participants of the program "Electronic Government”. Hundreds of millions rubles have been already invested into this program.

In some regions UTK provided services of its Call-centers to ensure round-the-clock work of the information service of the “Electronic government”.

President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev stated in his Address to the Federal Assembly that state services would be available through electronic communication channels. They will include, among other, passing qualification tests and getting driver's licenses, registration of immovable property and getting bibliographic information from the state funds. In two years at least 60 key state services will be provided in the electronic form.

 “The set goals cannot be achieved without creation of the advanced telecommunications infrastructure available for state bodies and participants of the national programs. That is why UTK takes an active part in implementation of these national programs and considers them to be among the Company’s priority tasks”, - UTK’s Commercial Director Ruslan Tanashev said.
