OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2010. The State Statistics Committee (SSC) informs that for January country’s industrial output reached AZN 2.5 bn (US3.179 bn in accord with average exchange rate of AZN 0.8 to the US dollar) that is by 13.5% more versus January 2009.

Last December’s industrial production reached AZN 2.4 bn that became the best monthly index. In 2009 the indicator was AZN 22.2 bn (US 27.75 bn).

In 2008 industrial production made AZN 28.05 bn (US 34.209 bn) that is by 6% more versus the 2007 index.

Since October 2009 the SSC has not published data on state and private industrial sector.

For this January production in extracting industry made AZN 1.9 bn or 75.9% of entire industrial output, processing industry AZN 453 million or 17.8%, energy and gas sector AZN 150 million or 5.9% and the rest volume fell on the share of water supply, sewage treatment and utilization of hard waste.

Production in extracting industry rose by 16.7% and fell by 0.5% in processing industry, by 3.2% in energy and gas sectors, by 12.4% in watersupply and waste utilization.

The Feb-Jul 2008 tendency when industrial output rise surpassed GDP returned this January (+9.2% following the past month). In January the difference in favor of industrial sector reached 4.3%.

In 2009, industrial sector lagged by 0.7% from country’s GDP dynamics that observed the 9.3% growth in comparable prices.
