OREANDA-NEWS. February 19, 2010. The official headquarters of Russia, Krasnodar region, and Olympic Sochi at the XXI Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver has been given the name "Russian House Sochi 2014." Baltika № 3 Classic will become the official national beer of Russian Sochi House 2014, once again confirming its status as one of the most popular brands in Russia.

Russian House Sochi 2014 is located in the Science World building on the shores of the Burrard Inlet, close by the Olympic Village and BC Place Stadium, where the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games will be held. The Russian House Sochi 2014 will bring together eminent athletes, avid fans, journalists, and officials from around the world.

Anton Artemyev, President of Baltika Breweries: "We consider it important to support ‘Russian House Sochi 2014‘ in Vancouver as one of the projects promoting the Winter Olympics and Paralympics Games in Sochi — in itself a first in Russian history. From its very beginnings Baltika Breweries, over the course of many years, has sponsored many different kinds of sporting events."

Baltika actively strives to participate in socially significant events and social projects both at the national and regional levels. The company annually organizes and sponsors more than a hundred events in Russia and abroad — concerts, festivals, and urban events and celebrations. In 2008 the company was a partner of the Russian Hospitality House at the Olympic Games in Beijing, presenting its products on an exclusive basis.

In 2004 when amendments to Russian advertising legislation were passed limiting brewing companies’ ability to sponsor sports, Baltika maintained its annual support by becoming a co-organizer of some 35 to 40 competitions, such as:

The Russian Football Championships (2003 and 2004);

The Baltika Brewery Cup (formerly the "Izvestiya Trophy") of the Euro Hockey Tour (1997-2004);

The Word Figure Skating Championships (2000);

The 4th annual President of Russia Cup in Judo (2003);

The Short Track St. Petersburg Open (2001);

The Kremlin Cup and St. Petersburg Open tennis tournaments in Moscow and St. Petersburg (2001);

and many others.

Baltika Breweries supports business and cultural events in Canada, where their products have been available since 2003. During the XXI Winter Olympic Games, Baltika № 3 Classic will also be the exclusive beer of the international Cross Nation Point project, which will bring together sports fans in Toronto. The event’s programme is extensive and includes sports broadcasts, film showings on the history of the Olympic movement, meetings with athletes, and much more. Cross Nation Point will take place from 12 February to 1 March 2010.
