OREANDA-NEWS. February 19, 2010. Aquamarine Hotel was opened on 26 Ozerkovskaya Embankment in the historical area of Moscow on February 15. The grand opening ceremony was attended by the first deputy mayor of Moscow Vladimir Resin.

Mr Resin read out the message by Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov: “The opening of Aquamarine Hotel in the historical centre of Moscow called Zamoskvorechie is another important contribution in the creation of an attractive appearance of the [Russian] capital. It is especially important today, during the economic recession, when a lot of developers cut the infrastructure projects.

We are sure the example set by AFI Development that, despite the global economic crisis, implement the projects aimed at developing the city and its infrastructure, will become the one to follow for the other Russian and foreign companies.”

According to Mr Resin, there are enough expensive hotels in Moscow but a shortage of the economy ones, such as Aquamarine Hotel, still remains.

The newly opened 160-room hotel contains a fitness centre, a spa, restaurants and conference facilities. Its total area is 12,000 square metres.
