OREANDA-NEWS. March 2, 2010. On 2-5 March, Atakent Exhibition Centre in Almaty will host KazBuild Spring 2010, the 5th Anniversary Kazakhstan International Construction Exhibition, and WinTecExpo Kazakhstan 2010, the 3rd Kazakhstan International Specialised Windows, Doors and Facades Exhibition. The events are organised by Iteca, along with its international partners from the UK, Germany and Turkey. Official support is provided by the Agency for Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Mayor’s Office of Almaty.

The total exhibition area of KazBuild Spring 2010 and WinTec Expo Kazakhstan 2010 is 4055m?. The exhibitions will feature 165 companies from 14 countries - including Belarus, Germany, China, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, UAE, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, France, Croatia and South Korea. The most well represented countries are: Kazakhstan (54%), Russia (12%), Germany (8%), Turkey (6%), China (5%) and Ukraine (4%). Among the newcomers to the exhibition are the United Arab Emirates and Croatia.

According to Nailya Sermukhamedova, director of Iteca’s building exhibitions division: “If we talk about trends and acknowledge that exhibitions provide an idea of the market, we can say that Kazakhstan’s construction industry is gradually becoming balanced. Since the beginning of this year, we have seen an increase in the activity of domestic companies. Thus, the number of Kazakh companies at the exhibition amounts to 54% of all exhibitors, an increase of 7% on last year. As a result of the tele-marketing and B2B programmes that our company conducts ahead of every exhibition, we have also seen increased interest from professional visitors. Companies from the CIS have also become much more active.”

Amongst international exhibitors, Russian companies are traditionally the most numerous. “These events are being held at the beginning of the revitalisation of the construction market, with noticeable prospects for growth in construction work. In this regard, the Russian companies participating in the exhibition intend to offer our Kazakh colleagues the latest goods and services, certified in accordance with the strictest international requirements, and consider various options for cooperation and collaboration, including joint production,” said Vadim Verzhbitsky, head of the Russian Trade Representation in Kazakhstan.

Bavaria (Germany) will participate with a separate national stand for the second year. Dr. Gerold Amelung Consul General of Federal Republic of Germany in Almaty, said: “Despite the difficult economic situation worldwide, KazBuild Spring 2010 and WinTech Expo Kazakhstan 2010 open the spring construction, and are very attractive events. The German pavilion will once again bring together representatives of enterprises from Bavaria.

At the press conference dedicated to the opening of the construction exhibitions, the Agency for Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Republic of Kazakhstan will present data on the implementation of the “Roadmap towards the Development and Modernisation of Housing and Utilities” for 2009, as well as key provisions of the Programme for the Modernisation and Development of Housing and Utilities of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2010-2014.

“In addition to the ongoing programme to develop the building materials, products and structures industry, this year a programme to modernise and develop Kazakhstan’s housing and utilities began, which will run for 5 years until 2014. The Message of the Head of State contains a clear directive: to modernise the housing and utilities system by 2020, reducing unit operating costs and implementing resource saving technologies. Three main areas have already been identified: reconstruction of existing engineering networks and communal sector facilities; water supply in population centres (100% access to quality water); and the creation of an institutional basis for improving housing and utilities. I am convinced that KazBuild Spring and WinTecExpo Kazakhstan, which open the spring construction season in 2010, will provide the best opportunity for introducing the most advanced materials, equipment and technologies to Kazakhstan’s construction market,” said Serik Nokin, Chairman of the Agency for Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in his welcome letter to the participants of the exhibitions.

Once again, the specialised events will provide a platform for presenting the latest products. The business programme of the exhibitions is comprehensive. On the 3 and 4 March, presentations and seminars will be given by the following companies: Galaksi, KazStroySteklo, Apriori, DoorHan-Astana, Kazdizel and others.

This year, the exhibitions will feature the “Goods, Brands, Technologies” competition of innovations in construction industry, which is organised by Iteca and IDEAS magazine. The contest will assess new products in Kazakhstan’s building and finishing materials market. The main criteria for evaluation are: ergonomics, manufacturability and demand. The jury consists of professional independent experts in the field of architecture and design, and representatives of government bodies in the field of innovation in construction. In addition to certificates, the winners will be granted the right to use the contest logo in the branding of the winning product. The event will be held at 14:00-16:00 on 2 March in the conference hall of pavilion 9. Entry is free of charge for journalists.
