During the meeting Shuvalov claimed that his traveling the CIS countries is linked with Russia’s aspiration to agree on those projects in the Commonwealth which are of special importance.

“In all meetings the sides discussed two basic infrastructure directions – co-operation in the area of energy and transport. Both in general sense and in specialized fields CIS countries’ energy sector have great opportunities. For example, both Azerbaijan and Russia are producers of energy resources and together with that vast responsibility on saving of energy resources lies upon us,” Shuvalov considers.

He also thinks that in the area of transport it is necessary to agree on those parameters on which the countries are “going to develop further”.

“We want to see in what other areas of transport we can adopt experience of successful work of the CIS Council on co-operation in the area of railway,” he said.
