OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2010. During the 12 months after Russia’s entry into the international motor third party liability insurance system "Green Card" (on 01 January 2009), ROSNO’s North-Western Directorate sold over 5 thousand policies. In total, ROSNO sold over 30,000 policies during that period, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

ROSNO’s North-Western Directorate holds the second position among the company’s regional directorates in terms of sales of the Green Card policies, its share accounting for 16% of the aggregate sales volume. The leader of this rating is the Central Directorate, where the major volume of sales pertains to such cities as Belgorod, Smolensk, and Bryansk. Within ROSNO’s North-Western Directorate almost half of all sales were made in St. Petersburg proper. One may note a considerable demand in the area covered by the Directorate’s Kaliningrad branch (32%). The clients of the abovementioned cities of the North-Western Directorate are usually purchasing the policies effective worldwide, while the clients of Bryansk and Belgorod prefer the policies designed solely for the CIS countries. Above all, such distribution is conditioned by the geographical location of regions.

In 2009, the Green Card policies were more actively purchased by private clients (82%). In addition, just over half of all policies purchased by them have been designed for CIS countries, while corporate clients were more frequently buying the policies effective in all countries where the system operated (89% of all insurance contracts concluded by corporate clients).

In 2009, the peak sales of the Green Card policies were observed in July, August and December, which corresponds to peaks in tourist activity.
