OREANDA-NEWS. March 09, 2010. DSMF says that as of 1st January 2010 the number of country’s labour pensioners reached 1,308,432 persons.

“Quantity of female pensioners around the country prevails again. Currently 60.6% of pensioners are women (792,290 people), including 389,919 mothers with many children, while 39.4% are men (516,142 persons).

Besides, 10,112 of those who receive labor pensions are state officials,” it was reported.

As a whole, 133,881 pensioners are working and 37,481 get labour pensions on subsidized conditions.

“311,849 persons get pensions on an industrial injury and an illness connected with profession, while 137,924 because of loss of breadwinner,” it was reported.

Average level of pension in Azerbaijan in 2009 rose by 5.3% up to 100.4 manats.

To remind, the right for labor pension in Azerbaijan is given to women aged 57 years and men aged 62 years in case of five-year work period.

According to the amended Law on Labour Pension, since 1 January 2010 pension age for men will be increased by six months every year until it reaches 63 years old, while pension age for women will be raised until 1st January 2016 before it reaches 60 years old.
