OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2010. The mark-ups and prices at restaurants, cafes and bars of the first, higher and lux price categories will be formed in accordance with current market trends. President Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No 127 "On Making Additions to Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No 285 of 19 March 1999".

This document provides for excluding the goods (works, services) offered by the public catering facilities of the lux, higher and first categories from the list of goods (works, services) the prices for which (tariffs) and mark-ups (discounts) on which are subject to regulation by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, republican bodies of state administration and other state organisations reporting to the Government of the Republic of Belarus, National Bank, oblast executive committees and Minsk city executive committee. The list was adopted by Decree the President of the Republic of Belarus No 285 of 19 May 1999 "On some Measures for Stabilizing Prices (Tariffs) in the Republic of Belarus".

The purpose of Decree No 127 is to make it easier for public catering organizations to run their business, to help improve the quality of products and services, servicing standards, make this industry more attractive for investors, and give an impetus to further growth of the restaurant business.

The Decree comes into force following its official publication.
