OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2010. In the city of Pskov a cornerstone laying ceremony was held as construction starts on a new Lenta hypermarket store slated to open during the 4th quarter of 2010. Investment in the project will come in at over 650mln rubles.

Attending the ceremony was the Mayor of Pskov, the Head of the city Administration of Pskov, the Head of the Committee for Economic Development, Industry and Investment in the Pskov Oblast, and executives from Lenta.

Lenta in Pskov will be situated at Ryzhky Prospekt, dom 96b. The hypermarket will be similar to other hypermarkets that Lenta has built throughout the country and will be 9000 sq.m. in size (with a sales area of approximately 6000 sq.m.). Out front will be a parking lot for 400 cars.

The appearance of the Lenta hypermarket on the Pskov market is a first for the city and the region. It will help lead the way in the development of retail trade in the area. Over 13,000 SKUs are planned to be sold at the complex, including both food and non-food items, at the firm’s traditional low prices.

The hypermarket is scheduled to be open 24/7.

Local producers will be well representative at Lenta’s hypermarket in Pskov, including but not limited to local meats, fish, bread and bakery products, fresh items, and dairy products. By having the goods on the shelf, it is just one way that Lenta is contributing to the growth of regional producers throughout the nation where Lenta hypermarkets are located.

The hypermarket will also create next to 300 jobs for the city and region. As an employer, Lenta promises its employees a good salary and benefits, as well as, exceptional professional growth for those looking to start a career in retail.
