OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2010. The agreement was signed by Inayat Huseynov, the head of SOCAR Department of Information Technologies & Communications, and Fugro Data Solutions’ managing director Simon Kendall.

SOCAR informs that database will contain national and corporate information and will be open for use by SOCAR and other companies. It will enable to raise efficiency of assessment, exploration and licensing of development of oil and gas resources. The Department of Corporate Database was set up in SOCAR. In August 2009 SOCAR announced a tender procedure for full integration and development of this system. Following competition with Schlumberger and Halliburton its winner became Fugro.

“The project will consist of several stages and the contract signed with the winner will cover the first stage with 3-year term and a possibility of extension up to 5 years. Fugro will render consulting support, provide software, help organize jobs of administrations and users of corporate database, conduct training courses for the personnel, pilot commissioning of information, etc,” it was informed.
