OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2010. Russian ‘Finance’ magazine has ranked Russian banks by reliability. Gazprombank, one of Belgazprombank founders, has been awarded the highest rating in the B category, BBB, reported the press-centre of Belgazprombank.

‘Finance’, a Russian business to business weekly focusing on finance, groups Russia’s largest banks by the level of reliability into three categories – A, B and ‘unrated’.

Four banks have been ranked as the most reliable – including Sberbank, Rosselkhozbank, VTB and RosBR – an affiliate of Vnesheconombank. Sberbank was awarded AA, Rosselkhozbank – A, VTB and RosBR – А-.

Only five Russian banks – including Gazprombank – received the highest rating in the B category.

The end of 2009 has marked the start of improvement in the banking system, states the edition.
