OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2010. The 44th Berlin international tourist exhibition ITB-2010 is held in MESSE Berlin expocentre opens on March, 10 and will last until March, 14.

ITB is the largest tourist fair in the world. The number of registered exhibition participants intending to come to Berlin by the beginning of March corresponds to similar data of the last year that confirms its leading value for tourist industry of the world.

In 26 pavilions of Berlin Exhibition Grounds exhibition center their products will present more than 11,000 companies and organizations from 180 countries and territories of the world. 110,000 professional visitors are expected to come to ITB-2010. The Berlin tourist forum is a recognized barometer of the world economic situation of tourist industry.

The joint delegation of participants of ITB-2010 from regions of Russia is headed by the Chairman of the Committee for Tourism of Moscow City Government Grigory Antyufeyev. The main feature of the exhibition this year is participation of three Russian capitals – Moscow, St.-Petersburg and Kazan – in the joint stand of the Committee for Tourism of Moscow City Government which general exhibition area makes 330 square meters.

As an active participant of Coordination Council of tourism Regions of Russia – Moscow Agreement by the Committee for Tourism of Moscow City Government the Republic of Karelia is offered free-of-charge workplace on the Russian stand where the tourist potential of Karelia is presented by Intourist-Petrozavodsk Joint-Stock Company and Nordic Travel, Ltd.

Participation of the Republic of Karelia in the largest tourist fair of the world will promote increase in the international tourist flow to our northern region.
