OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2010. The property insurance fees of SOGAZ Group totalled 24.58 billion roubles, which is 4% higher than the previous year (23.58 billion roubles). Payments increased by 12% to 6.6 billion roubles.

The fees for mandatory medical insurance grew by 42% (in 2009 – 39.4 billion roubles, in 2008 – 27.78 billion roubles). The Group’s fees for voluntary personal insurance (without life insurance) increased by 8% to 15.36 billion roubles (compared to 14.20 billion roubles in the previous year). The premium in voluntary medical insurance went up by 35% to 14 billion roubles.

Higher earnings were also reported in liability insurance. The premium in liability insurance in the reporting period went up by 36% to 2.34 billion roubles. Payments amounted to 214 million roubles which is 28% higher than in the previous year.

The Group’s fees in car (hull) insurance dropped by 17% from 3.46 billion roubles to 2.87 billion roubles due to a stricter underwriting policy at SOGAZ. Payments increased by 8% to 2.2 billion roubles. In mandatory civil liability insurance the company’s fees totaled 1.1 billion roubles (+26%) and payments – 614 million roubles (+22%).

Gazprom’s share in SOGAZ (without mandatory medical insurance) in 2009 was reduced to 41% (as compared to 46% in 2008). The share of other clients in the Group’s portfolio increased to 59%.

In 2009 the total assets of insurance companies of SOGAZ Group increased by 14 billion roubles to 77.90 billion roubles as of the end of the year. It is 23% higher than in 2008 (63.1 billion roubles).

The Group’s insurance reserves increased to 50.6 billion roubles (+19%). The Group’s total capital increased to 16.53 billion roubles (+41%).

The Group’s investment income for 12 months of 2009 totaled 3.07 billon roubles, which is 523% higher than in 2008.

The net income of SOGAZ Group in 2009 totaled 4.45 billion roubles (according to Russian Accounting Standards), which is 47% higher than in 2008.
