OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2010. SOGAZ insured 24 airplanes of the airlines: five Boeings 737-500, three Boeings 767-300, five Airbuses A320, nine Airbuses A319, and two new Russian-Ukrainian airplanes AN-148-100В. Airplanes are insured against destruction, loss, or damage for a total of 663.5 million US dollars.

SOGAZ also provides civil liability coverage for Rossiya Airlines when using these airplanes. A limit of the insurer’s liability per plane varies from 300 to 750 million US dollars.

The insurance contract for one year took effect on March 6, 2010.

According to Dmitry Malyshev, Director for Corporate Client Insurance of SOGAZ Insurance Group, in preparation for the contest SOGAZ held bidding among leading reinsurance brokers, through which the company intended to reinsure the risks of Rossiya Airlines, to select the best offers in line with the policy holder’s and lessors’ requirements, as well as the Insurance Group’s  interests. Risks are reinsured through JLT Insurance Brokers with insurance and reinsurance companies with a Standard&Poor’s rating of A- or higher.
