OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2010. In 2009, ROSNO settled 116 insured accidents using the direct OMTPL loss settlement procedure in North-Western region. In total, ROSNO settled in Russia 1689 insured accidents under the direct OMTPL loss settlement procedure, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

In 2009, the Motor Loss Settlement Department of ROSNO’s North-Western Directorate recorded 168 insured accidents under the direct loss settlement system, accounting for 5% of all OMTPL losses recorded by the company. Throughout last year, the specialists of the Directorate’s Department settled 116 insured accidents under the direct loss settlement system, accounting for about 7% of the same figure for the company overall. The major reason for settlement refusals is improper issuance of the reference certificate No.748 (to be completed by the road police at the traffic accident scene).

Though the new OMTPL rules were enacted only on 01 March of the previous year, during the short period passing from that date, ROSNO’s clients demonstrated a considerable degree of trust towards the new loss settlement system. In December 2009, the share of directly settled losses increased to 17% of the total amount of OMTPL losses.
