OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2010. The first auction to select infrastructure development objects funded by the Netherlands’ Government within the framework of the ORIO program started in Moldova. By means of the ORIO program (Assistance to Infrastructure Development) the Netherlands’ Government provides financing for projects intended for the public infrastructure development implemented in developing countries, including Moldova.

Provision with drinking water, irrigation, sewerage, public transport, construction and repair of roads, railways, energy efficiency, alternative energy resources are the priority directions for Moldova within the framework of the program. The ORIO program provides assistance on all stages of the project. The projects’ budget may vary between 2 -60 million euros. Depending on the project’s stage, the Netherlands’ Government provides funding in the amount of 50% on the project preparation stage and 35% - on the stag4e of implementation, maintenance and functioning of the object.

The rest cost of the project is funded by the Government’s own funds, commercial credit or money allocated by international financial organizations. The Netherlands’ Government selects for financing projects meeting all evaluation conditions and having the highest points. The project offers may be proposed only by the Moldovan Government.

Thereupon, the Ministry of Economy has addressed to companies to submit their offers as to the projects in the field of energy structure development until 14th of April 2010 to the a.ivanov@mec.gov.md.
