OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2010. “It is planned to implement 238 investment projects to the sum of over 7.5 trillion tenge (147.16 / USD 1) in Kazakhstan within the state program of forced industrial-innovative development,” said Minister of Industry and Trade Aset Issekeshev.

“Today we have 238 projects to the sum of over 7.5 trillion tenge. Each of the projects has responsible executive and specific deadlines,” he said at the meeting with the President on issues of industrial development on Friday in Astana.

According to him, all these projects “have a high level of elaboration and financial security.”

Minister reminded that the completion of not less than 144 industrial infrastructure projects worth over 800 billion tenge with a creation of 20 thousand permanent jobs is planned in the current year.

“We are starting the construction of another 47 projects this year. As a result of their implementation more than 100 thousand jobs will be created,” he said.

Aset Issekeshev noted 24 investment projects in Aktobe region, the largest amount of investment is planned in Pavlodar and East Kazakhstan oblasts and 3.6 thousand jobs will be created in Zhambylskaya region.

He said eight projects, involving foreign investors, will be put into operation this year in Kazakhstan and there 49 projects are being implemented now.

The realization of the state program will help to achieve the following results by 2014: GDP growth to 50% from the level in 2008, increase a productivity in manufacturing sector by 50%, by 100% - in some sectors of economy, the share of non-commodity exports up to 40%, reduction of energy intensity of GDP by 10% from the level in 2008.

This program will be the only instrument in the sphere of economy in these five years. All existing policies and programs will be put to loss.

On January 29 this year, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev announced the launch of industrial-innovative development in the republic in his annual state-of-the-nation address.
