OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2010. CenterTelecom OJSC and Orel region's administration have signed a cooperation agreement for development of information and telecommunications infrastructure aimed at further social and economic development of the region and at improvement of the population's living standard. The agreement has been signed on February 26 by Alexander Kozlov, Governor and Chairman of the Government of Orel Region, and Vaagn Martirosyan, General Director, CenterTelecom.

In accordance with the signed document Orel region's administration is to support implementation of CenterTelecom's investment programs in the territory of the region. CenterTelecom in turn plans to hold a large scale development of a newest information and telecommunications infrastructure in Orel region. The parties also came to an agreement on development of protected data transmission network and videoconferencing for the regional and municipal administrations.

The agreement specifies accomplishment of the tasks related to provision of safety and to improvement of living standard of Orel region's population by means of construction of optic fiber lines and 100% digitalization of the traffic network of CenterTelecom's Orel branch. The signed document also provides expansion of Internet access an IPTV services by means of construction of broadband networks in Orel, Mtsensk and Livny with subsequent expansion of a zone where these services are rendered. Moreover the agreement reflects the parties' intentions to provide high quality Internet access to global information resources for educational organizations, health care and social institutions as well as expansion of access to state services portal for Orel region's inhabitants.
