OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2010. Moscow Domodedov Airport passenger traffic volumes totaled 1 287 484 based on results of February 2010 which is 36,6% more compared to the same period in 2009. It should be noted that Domodedovo demonstrates the highest growth rates in Moscow Aviation Hub for the indicated period.

February 2010 saw 13 283 flights served in Domodedovo which is an increase by 19,9% in comparison to February 2009. Cargo traffic in Domodedovo demonstrated growth by 29,6% compared to the last year rates and reached 10 266 tons.

The most extensive passenger traffic growth rates were recorded on domestic routes and totaled 533 339 which is an increase by 37,4% compared to the same period in 2009. International traffic in February 2010 increased by 36,0% compared to the same month last year and totaled 745 145 passengers.

Following the results of two month total passenger traffic in January and February 2010 reached 2 776 193 which is 35,2% more compared to the same period last year. Domestic passenger traffic in January-February saw 1 090 971 (an increase of 40,4% compared the same period last year).

Based on two months results the highest growth rates of passenger traffic volumes was recorded on the following destinations: Saint Petersburg, Ufa, Orenburg, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen. Passenger traffic volumes operated along these routes totaled 258 000 which is an increase by 87% versus the same period in 2009.

International passenger traffic in January-February 2010 totaled 1 685 222 demonstrating an increase by 32,1% compared to the same period last year. The highest growth rates were recorded on the following destinations: Hurgada, Sharm el Sheikh, Bangkok, Phuket, Dubai. Passenger traffic along these routes saw a growth of 487 000 which is an increase by 95% compared to 2009.

The number of flights served for the two month of 2010 totaled 28 577 demonstrating an increase by 21,1% compared to the same period in 2009.

Based on results of January-February 2010 the volume of cargo traffic totaled 18 608 tons which is an increase by 24,4% compared to the first two month in 2009.
