OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2010. In January-February 2010, the industrial enterprises of all forms of ownership in Moldova produced goods for 3 billion 813,4 million leis (USD 306 million), exceeding the indicators of the same period of 2009 by 4,1%. As "InfoMarket" was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, the growth in industrial output in the first two months of this year was due to the increased production at the enterprises of processing industry - 1,8% and energy sector - 11,4%, which led to the increase in overall production volumes by 1,3% and 3,2%, respectively.

The increase in the industrial output was also stipulated by growth in production at enterprises producing tobacco products - 2,4 times, wines - by 30,2%, distilled alcoholic beverages - by 27.5%, cocoa, chocolate and confectionery products from sugar - by 20,3%, products of milling industry - by 20,1%, paper and paperboard - by 16.1%. Production and distribution of electricity increased by 12%, medicines and pharmaceutical products - by 10,6%, supply of steam and hot water - by 9,8%, production of clothing - at 8.3%, vegetable and animal oils and fats – by 1,4%.

At the same time, in January-February 2010, there was a decline in the output at enterprises of mining industry - by 63,6%, metallurgy - by 43.4%, enterprises for production of wood and wood products - by 43%, mineral water and soft drinks - by 28,5%. The decline in the field of publishing, printing business and playback of informational materials made 25.6%, production of rubber and plastic products-24,7%, other non-metallic mineral products (glass, concrete products, gypsum, cement) - 22,9% .

The volumes of production of machinery and equipment declined by 17,6%, processing and canning of fruits and vegetables - by 15,7%, production of macaroni, noodles and similar farinaceous products - by 12,6%, footwear - by 10.7%, textile products - 9,4%, varnishes and paints - 7,5%, furniture and dairy products-5,5%. Production of bread and bakery has decreased by 4,9%, production, processing and preserving of meat and meat products - by 4,5%, respectively.
