OREANDA-NEWS. On March 25, 2010 deputy Director General of “Engineering Center UES” Alexander Yushin will present a report about topical trends of Russian energy engineering at a strategic session of exhibition Russia Power 2010 “Situation in the market of engineering /EPC companies, equipment suppliers in Russia”.

The report will present an assessment of the current situation in Russian energy engineering and dwell on the problems and tendencies of its development. The year 2009 was uneasy for the Russian energy system – power consumption in Russia dropped by 4,6% as compared to 2008. Decrease in demand and negative macroeconomic tendencies together with the accumulated problems in the energy sector gave rise to adverse conditions for energy companies’ operation. In the beginning of 2010 the situation started to change. Commercial production in Russia grew by 5,8% during January and February; and power consumption is growing. Can one speak of the beginning of the positive trend?

“Engineering Center UES”’s experience will illustrate the new tactics of operation of energy companies in the existing circumstances.

Besides, on March 26, in the technical session of conference “Technologies of energy systems operation” Ramziyah Kaverina, head of Engineering Center for overhead power transmission lines representing a branch of “Engineering Center UES” - “Firm ORGRES” - will present her report “Enhancement of overhead power transmission lines reliability under the action of ice loads and wind loads”. Her report will among the other issues touch upon the burning subject of enhancement of power transmission lines reliability in conditions of ice and wind loads and efforts to bring down wire dancing. She will also present the experience of “Firm ORGRES” in the development and implementation of technologies for damping of vibration, wire dancing and ice formation.
