OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2010. A month campaign aimed against dirty wheels on the streets of Moscow is to start at the end of March.

It was unveiled by Aleksandr Maksimenko, head of the Department for Urban Development of Moscow, at a session held by the Moscow committee for building standards, cases of emergency, labour protection and safety engineering on March 18.

According to the official, such a campaign has been waged in Moscow since 2006 during so-called ‘dirty’ seasons – spring and autumn.

Mr Maksimenko added that, due to the clear wheel month, city authorities able to check a lot of Moscow’s building sites for a vehicle washing area.

The campaign waged in spring 2009 checked 377 building sites in the Russian capital and found violations at 91 of them.
