OREANDA-NEWS. March 24, 2010. During the VI Corporate Presentation Day (CPD) of IDGC of North-West which is held today in St. Petersburg, Chief Engineer of the energy company Georgy Turlov has invited the Russian group of companies “Taurida Electric” to take part in the pilot project aimed at modernization of the grids in Pskovenergo, a branch of IDGC of North-West.

For today the scope of work has been already developed for the purposes of creation of new-type grids. Pskovenergo was selected as the base to implement the project. Its zone of responsibility now includes more than 45 thousand kilometers of grids of various voltage classes.

IDGC of North-West’s networks deterioration index amounts to 60-65 %. Therefore new solutions are needed which will allow the electric grid complex to meet its tasks at such level of equipment deterioration.

“Taurida Electric” offers the solution - creation of controlled automated networks, implementation of complex solutions within the limits of renovation programs with application of SMART-GRID technologies. Foreign experience proves that SMART-GRID is successfully used mainly on the way to the end user - in distribution grids; they are used less in high voltage networks.

During the discussion of presentations about developments of the company “Taurida Electric” IDGC of North-West’s Chief Engineer, Chairman of the CPD Organizing Committee Georgy Turlov said that details of the new pilot project in Pskovenergo, as well as the issues of implementation of smart technologies in IDGC of North-West’s branches would be discussed during the joint conference of technical experts of the united operational company and representatives of “Taurida Electric” group of companies.
