OREANDA-NEWS. March 24, 2010. Alexey Bereznoy has been appointed partner and leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers' EU&M Advisory practice in Russia. Alexey has provided consulting services to a wide variety of large Russian oil and gas companies in areas such as strategic corporate and operational enterprise restructuring, performance improvement, planning and management reporting, corporate organisation and governance, post-merger integration services and strategic market research.

Born in Moscow in 1956, Alexey graduated from Moscow State University’s Economics Department in 1978 with a major in International Economics. In 1981, Alexey got a PhD in Economics, followed by a postdoctoral degree in Economics from the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1992). In 1993, Alexey graduated from the Economic Development Institute of the World Bank in Washington, D.C.In 1981, Alexey started work as a senior research associate at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1992–1999, he worked for Deloitte & Touche, starting as a manager and working up to a director role. In 1999, Alexey joined KPMG, where he stayed until 2006. He then returned to Deloitte as a partner, leading the Operations Excellence Consulting practice.
