OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2010. AltaiVagon (HC SDS-Mash is the main shareholder) will supply Novotrans Holding Company (part of Holding Company Siberian Business Union, SDS) with 4,000 gondola railcars in the course of 2010, said Maxim Zakharov, PR Director of SDS-Mash.

"The number of wagons supplied can be increased if Novotrans requires more," he said.

The company's management does not disclose the contract amount. This is the largest AltaiVagon’s contract.

As earlier reported, in 2009 AltaiVagon produced 3,855,000 railcars, 46.5% less than in 2008.

AltaiVagon is a large manufacturer of railway rolling stock. The company specializes in freight cars, including tank cars, gondola cars, box cars and flat wagons.

Holding Company Novotrans (founded in 2000) is among the largest carriers in Russia. It has rail transport also in Ukraine and Belarus. The structure of HC includes subsidiaries in Kemerovo, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Moscow, Kiev, as well as their representatives in Novokuznetsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Rostov, Cherepovets, Voronezh, Krasnoyarsk, Chita, Bratsk, Ulan-Ude, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Nakhodka and Ussuriysk. The company park includes 13,000 wagons, gondola cars and flat wagons.
