OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2010. S7 Airlines, the largest domestic airline in Russia, and Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), have entered into a code share agreement. The agreement means S7 customers will be able to fly from Moscow to Abu Dhabi, and will have greater and easier access to Etihad’s expanding network of more than 60 destinations.

S7 Airlines has commenced a fare sale for these joint services, which will operate daily from March 28, 2010. The flights will be serviced by Etihad Airways’ modern Airbus A320 fleet.

“We are happy to cooperate with Etihad Airways, one of the best airlines in the world in terms of quality of service. Now passengers of S7 Airlines will also be able to experience the award-winning service offered by our partner,” said the commercial director of S7 Airlines Vadim Besperstov.

“We are very pleased to enter into this code share agreement with S7. We view this partnership as a natural extension of our successful daily services into Moscow that commenced in December, 2008. We look forward to working with S7 to enable passengers from all over Russia to travel to Abu Dhabi and beyond,” said James Hogan, CEO of Etihad Airways.

The minimum round-trip fare for the joint flight is 400 Euros, exclusive of taxes. In the near future, passengers will be offered special transfer fares from Russian regions to Abu Dhabi, via a convenient connection in Moscow.

In October 2010, S7 Airlines will start its own scheduled flights from Moscow to the capital of UAE, with two flights per week. With the addition of these services, the frequency of S7 Airlines flights to Abu Dhabi will increase to nine times per week.
