OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2010. Deputy Director General of “Engineering Center UES” Alexander Yushin presented report about the current trends of Russian energy engineering in a strategic session at conference Russia Power 2010 “Situation in the market of engineering /EPC companies, equipment suppliers in Russia”.

In the report, he presented assessment of the current situation in the Russian energy engineering, its problems and tendencies in development. Alexander Yushin is sure: “Despite challenging conditions – lack of definite mechanisms in the energy sector, adverse macro-economical environment, the growth of energy consumption will in foreseeable future promote the growth of demand for energy facilities (generating facilities, grids) and new projects of engineering companies”.

It is for the first time this year that Russia Power, besides the already traditional technical and strategic directions, presented the brand new direction dedicated solely to hydro power engineering, construction of dams and civil projects – HydroVision 2010. The new direction was purposefully singled out as a special block in the conference – being among the world leaders in production of hydro electric power, Russia still leaves undeveloped about four-fifth of its hydro energy potential. Hydropower engineering program of the conference was compiled by an international expert committee headed by HRW magazine publisher, Penn Well Corporation (organizer of Russia Power) and chairman of international conference HydroVision.

Tow presentations from JSC “Institute Hydroproject” are planned under HydroVision program. On March 25, 2010 Shamil Abubakirov presented report devoted to “Methodology of reconstruction for hydro turbine equipment at operating hydro electric power stations”.
