OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2010. Machinery and Industrial Group N.V.  according to the strategic partnership agreement with Russian Railways is to complete the re-equipment of  Kanashsky railway carriage repair works for the production of new cargo carriage.

From the very beginning of the project the Division for railway casting and carriage of the M&IG N.V.  was focusing on all the customer groups.  To enter the market and receive their approval we had to form exclusive supply. So we made a stake on the production of Russian  innovative rail carriage.

In 2009 the First Cargo Company purchased more than 2 000 new cargo cars which made about 25 per cent of the total purchases.

Cooperation of the M&IG N.V.  with Russian Railways and its subsidiary the First Cargo Company has strategic character. 2010 portfolio of the Group enterprises is 80 per cent formed and includes the delivery orders for the First Cargo Company according to the 3-year contract.

Our machine building holding is in process of completion of a most ambitious project (both in technology and investment)  in the former 30 years Russian transport building history. High-tech universal welding and assembly complex on the basis of Promtractor-wagon has been launched into work. The idea and production concept are presented by a leading world producer of the Shinkansen rail by Nippon Sharyo Ltd. Robotized production at the unique equipment enables ‘supermarket principle orders, i.e. easy changes from one carriage type production to the other depending on the market needs. The technological complex has an opportunity of re-setup of the equipment in 24 hours without  a pаuse in current type production. It is the first time in Russia when such a production scheme is used giving the flexibility to the changes of demand. 

The production complex is equipped by the up-to-date Japanese equipment: laser complex for the cut of the metal-roll, fraction-cleansing plants, programmed universal machines, processing centers and robotized welding complex by the leading manufacturers like Nippon Sharyo Ltd, OTC Dainen, Mazak, Nissan Tanaka.

Together with the equipment this new complex accommodates up-to-date software, including the American SigmaNEST product for the programming of laser metal cut. It represents the last generation of the Center for modeling and design of the metal processing which, according to the experts, makes a new step in the technical rationalization surpassing modern technology and allowing to produce new high-quality railway production at attractive price.

The capacity of another M&IG N.V. enterprise, Promtractor-Promlit, which is regarded as one of the most up-to-date and effective casting plants in Russia allows to answer all needs in the new trolleys casting.
