OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2010. Air Moldova airline has not received permission from the Ukrainian aviation authorities for operation of flights on Chisinau-Kiev air route for summer navigation season 2010, which started on March, 28.

Although Air Moldova filed on March 2, 2010 all documentation required by existing rules which is necessary for obtaining the permission to operate scheduled flights on the route Chisinau-Kiev, till today the company has not received the official answer from the Ukrainian aviation authorities.

During the current summer navigation season the airline intended to operate scheduled flights on the route Chisinau-Kiev (Borispol Airport) with a frequency of 3 times a week (on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays). For the convenience of passengers the company planned to operate flights in the morning with departure from Chisinau at 08:30 am.

Regular air service between Ukraine and Moldova was suspended in June 2008 due to refusal of Ukrainian aviation authorities to issue permission for Moldovan airline, which was a designated carrier on this destination at that time.

Air Moldova hopes to get the permission of the aviation authorities of Ukraine to operate flights on this air line which will allow the company to operate flights to Kiev.
