OREANDA-NEWS. April 01, 2010. Public Company ORLEN Lietuva has completed the complex maintenance of its Refinery process units and resumed refining operations. The Company managed to ensure supply of petroleum products to the market during the whole period of shutdown from the earlier accumulated stocks.

In two weeks of the shutdown the Company accomplished inspection and repairs of the Refinery’s installations, replacement of spent catalyst and reactors packing, cleaning of piping and inspection of valves. Currently the Company performs commissioning of the last unit, i.e. Visbreaker.

“Within a short period we have completed all scheduled activities and now are completely ready for the peak of fuel consumption”, told General Director of AB ORLEN Lietuva Krystian Pater.

Taking into consideration the short period of shutdown versus the large scope of works, the Company has started its maintenance activities with a thoroughly prepared plan. For 17 days approximately 1,200 employees from 32 contracting organizations of Lithuania, Poland, Germany and Russia were engaged in the maintenance works.
