OREANDA-NEWS. April 01, 2010. The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Igor Fyodorov, Head of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Administration.

The meeting addressed the implementation of the Agreement of Cooperation.

Alexey Miller and Igor Fyodorov discussed the prospects for Gazprom’s resource base development in the Okrug, the issues of regional gasification, and agreed on the terms and conditions of the Accord on Gasification for the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
Background

Gazprom and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Administration signed the Agreement of  Cooperation in November 2006.

Natural gas penetration in the Okrug accounts for 67.1 per cent including 97.9 per cent in cities and towns and 8.6 per cent in the rural area. The identical figures throughout Russia average 63.2, 67.5 and 45.5 per cent accordingly.

The Nenets Autonomous Okrug has a local gas supply system. Pechorneftegazprom (with a 50 per cent stake held by Gazprom transgaz Ukhta, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom) is the only gas supplier to the regional population centers.
