OREANDA-NEWS. April 1, 2010. A Russian-French seminar "Developing Foreign Business in Russia" Legal and Economic Aspects" took place in Paris, on 22-23 March 2010. The seminar was organized with assistance of the French Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Russian.

Members of the State Duma, representatives of the Russian Federal Tariff Service, the Federal Migration Service, the Ministry of Interior, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Investigation Committee at the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation and representatives of Russian and French companies and legal firms took part in the event.

The seminar focused on the major aspects of the work of French companies on the Russian market, in particular, protection of intellectual property rights, legal support to business offered by the law enforcement and supervisory bodies. Participants also discussed some issues related to the Customs Union between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, and changes in the Russian and French migration policies.

Andrey Tsyganov made a presentation "Protection of Competition and Unfair Competition: law and practice", where he outlined the main aspects of improving the law on state procurement, FAS Russia's efforts against bid-rigging collusions, and antimonopoly enforcement upon discovering the facts of unfair competition Mr. Tsyganov also told the about conditions and restrictions for participation of foreign bidders in the tenders for state procumbent in Russia, and procedures over control of economic concentration and foreign investments.

From the presentations made by Andrey Tsyganov, participants learned about the main areas of the national economic policy important for foreign organizations doing business in Russia.
