OREANDA-NEWS. April 1, 2010. At OJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih” the audit took place of compliance to the international standard BS EN ISO 9001:2008 and of the reinforcing bar production in accordance with the requirements of the British standards BS 4449 of versions of 1997 and 2005.

According to the requirements of the standard the enterprise is obliged to confirm compliance with requirements of the certificates received earlier every 6 months. This was exactly the aim of the inspection audit that took place on March 15-18. Within the framework of this audit the analysis of Quality Management System compliance was held. Issues like documentation and quality protocols management, the changes connecting with the personnel and the division of functional duties and the targets of the planning of Quality Management System were discussed.

The auditors have also executed the sample collection of reinforcing bar and took part in the tests of reinforcing bar of 460B\B500B and B500C grades to the correspondence to the requirements of the standards BS 4449 of versions of 1997 and 2005.

“Confirmation of our compliance with the requirements of this standard opens up for us new markets, where consumers of metal products use British quality standards, particularly – the United Arab Emirates” – Vasiliy Kucher, the director on quality of the enterprise commented. –  "For us it’s a new step in confirming competitiveness of our products”.

During the audit the sample collection of reinforcing bar was executed at the small-section mill SM-250-3 of the bar-rolling shop №1. The samples will later undergo tests in the independent laboratory in the UK. The confirmation of the audit’s results will allow including this subdivision in the certificated technological chain.

According to the results of the audit the areas for further improvement were specified in the spheres of reinforcing bar, documentation management and metrological assurance of the production. Preparation of the technological processes of milling to the production is planned at the small-section mill SM-250-4 with the purpose of including it into the certified chain during the next inspection audit that will take place in 6 months.
