OREANDA-NEWS. April 1, 2010. In 2010 Promivestbank (PIB, Kiev) intends to direct on crediting of enterprises of real sector of economy not less than USD 600 million, informed Chairman of Prominvestbank Viktor Bashkirov.

"In 2010 we'll direct on crediting not less than USD 600 million (not including repayment of credits issued before, which will also be directed on crediting).

We will keep the basic accent on strengthening and expansion of crediting of corporate clients. We are going to start intensive development in a segment of the growing national companies with annual turnover from USD 3 million to USD 40 million and to continue financing of large companies with annual turnover more than USD 40-50 million ", - he said.

Viktor Bashkirov also informed that in January-February, 2010 the credit portfolio of the Bank increased up to USD 154 million and made USD 3,083 billion.

By this time total amount of restructured credits by PIB made USD 450 million.

Mr. Bashkirov said that, during the current year the Bank should additionally form reserves under credit risks for the amount of USD 160-180 million (in 2009 the Bank has formed reserves by cumulative sum under active operations in amount of USD 634 million). Thus after formation of reserves the financial result of the Bank in 2010 could be negative.

'The Bank profit in 2009 before reserves made USD 33 million, but including reserves - the Bank had a loss. In 2010 we should increase operational profit, but after reserves formation, I guess, there can be losses ", - Mr. Bashkirov said, having noticed thus that the Bank can reach profitable activity in 2011-2012.

As it was mentioned before, net loss of Prominvestbank in 2009 made UAH 2.751 billion while in 2008 its net profit made UAH 109 million.

Mr. Viktor Bashkirov noticed that the Bank has sufficient capitalization level which allows the Bank to increase crediting.

"In 2009 we additionally capitalized the Bank for USD 0.5 billion. Therefore even with those reserves that we should form, capitalization level is sufficient not only for formation of reserves in 2010, but also for balance growth", - he said.

Mr. Bashkirov noticed that he didn't exclude possibility of attraction by the Bank of subordinated debt amount of which is discussed now.

Answering on a question of Prominvestbank's possible borrowings at foreign markets, Mr. Bashkirov noticed that he supposed that during the current year these markets wouldn't be opened for Ukrainian banks yet.

"If attraction of additional liquidity for banks of Vnesheconombank group would be required, it would be done, first of all, by Russian Vnesheconombank ", - he added.

Mr. Bashkirov also informed that in current year Prominvestbank would continue optimization of its regional network. "We are going to close unprofitable branches and to open new branches in those areas where we consider potential for our development. In 2009 about 272 non-balance branches that functioned with a losses were closed' - he said.

Now the regional network of the Bank makes about 600 branches.

PSC Prominvestbank was formed in 1992. At the beginning of 2010 Vnesheconombank (Russian Federation) owns 93.84% of the Bank's shares.

According to National Bank of Ukraine data, as of January 1, 2010 PSC Prominvestbank holds 7th place (by the size of Total Actives - UAH 30,437 billion) among 179 banks operating in Ukraine.
