OREANDA-NEWS. April 2, 2010. United Metallurgical Company and Gazprom Neft held a technical seminar in Vyksa. The seminar participants included 25 employees of Vyksa Steel Works, Trubodetal, and Gazprom Neft. The seminar subject was Production of Oil-and-Gas and Casing Pipes at VSW.

The participants discussed existing and future technical requirements for pipes and fittings, the OMK sales policy in the pipe market, and OMK's proposals for meeting the requirements of the oil and gas sectors. They visited the Casting and Rolling Complex (Vyksa Subsidiary of OMK-Steel, Nizhni Novgorod Region) and the electric pipe-welding workshops of Vyksa Steel Works.

"Holding seminars of this type is OMK's long-standing and efficient practice," said head of the OMK Directorate for Oil Company Relations Dmitry Kuzmin. "By means of seminars we attract our consumers to scientific and technological cooperation. This enables us to develop products that fully meet customer requirements."

OMK and Gazprom Neft have cooperated for more than three years. In 2009, these companies signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement.

Vyksa Steel Works is Russia's largest manufacturer of casing pipes designed for oil and gas fields and operations in challenging geological environments.
