OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2010. On October 5-7, 2010 "Lenexpo" complex will host "TRANSTECH" exhibition and "The Future of Russian Ports" conference. This year they will be conducted in assistance with the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

We asked "Alexander Tikhomirov, the director of transport exhibitions' department of JSC "Lenexpo", to give us some details.

- The meeting of the exhibitions committee of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs has already been conducted in Moscow in March. There was made the official decision to support "TRANSTECH 2010" and "The future of Russian ports".

On March 24, 2010 the President of the Union signed the document, which contained the list of priority exhibition events, chosen for the official support. The list contained two "Lenexpo" events: "TRANSTECH 2010" and "The future of Russian ports" conference.

Such support confirms the fact that these events are regarded as the important platform for the discussions, devoted to the problems of cooperation between industry and transport. It includes the development of infrastructure, which will improve the quality of life due to transport accessibility, and new projects, which will connect Russia with the external markets and strengthen its transit potential.  Transport for the new resource development territories is also an important problem. All this makes for the new job vacancies and projects, developing in accordance with the model of State and private partnership.

The cooperation between our national manufacturers, importers, exporters and shipping companies is also one of the most important discussion issues. The cooperation is focused on the national cargo services for the local, long-distance shipping and transit.

The events have also been supported by the Association of Commercial Sea Ports, which conducted the 23rd conference-meeting in Smolny on March 25, 2010. Meeting participants supported the conduction of the X anniversary exhibition "TRANSTECH 2010" and the II international conference "The future of Russian ports". It was decided to include the events into the Association's business program for 2010.
