OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2010. Belarusian investments in the Bryansk Oblast economy have increased ten times over the last three years. In 2006, Belarusian companies invested USD 800,000 in the Bryansk Oblast, while in 2009 the investments made up USD 8 million, Deputy Governor of the Bryansk Oblast Anatoly Terebunov said. He leads an official delegation of the Bryansk Oblast that arrived in Belarus to celebrate the Unity Day of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia.

The largest scale projects of the Bryansk Oblast and the Gomel Oblast include the establishment of joint assembly production of Gomselmash farm machinery and Amkodor road construction machinery. In 2009, almost 1,500 grain and fodder harvesters were assembled by Bryanskselmash using Belarusian technologies, up four times over 2008. This resulted in a USD 20 million increase in the trade between the oblasts in 2009.

The Bryansk Oblast delegation held talks with Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Boleslav Pirshtuk to discuss interregional cooperation, in particular joint projects in glass production and road construction.

The Gomel Oblast Drama Theatre will host a solemn event dedicated to the Unity Day of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. The Bryansk Oblast delegation is expected to participate.
