OREANDA-NEWS. April 06, 2010. The Svetlogorsk-based chemical company Khimvolokno will take part in the international composite materials expo JEC Composites Show. The expo will take place in Paris on 13-15 April. Khimvolokno will present its unique thermostable polyoxadiazole fibers, yarns and fabrics under the common name Arselon as well as carbon materials, head of the company’s marketing department Tatiana Gorina said.

The 45th JEC Composites Show is believed to be the industry’s largest expo. In 2009 it gathered around one thousand companies and over 25,000 visitors. As part of the expo forums are held to highlight the application of composites in various industries, environmental protection during the manufacturing of composites, high-precision technologies used to process the surface of products made of different materials.

The Svetlogorsk-based chemical company Khimvolokno is the world’s only manufacturer of thermostable materials Arselon and one of the world’s three producers of carbon materials based on hydrated cellulose fibers.

At the expo Belarusian producers will also demonstrate a new product – bonded fabric AquaSpun. The product is as comfortable as cotton and widely used in various industries, including the manufacturing of composites. The quality is confirmed by the international ecological certificate Eco-Tex.

Khimvolokno was founded in 1964. It is one of the largest petrochemical companies in Belarus. It comprises enterprises that manufacture polyether textile fibers, artificial fibers, carbonic and polymeric materials and consumer goods. The company exports the make to 38 countries.
