OREANDA-NEWS. April 06, 2010. In Odessa a solemn ceremony of awarding winners of the third National Maritime rate of Ukrainesummarizing the results of 2009 was held. According to the survey in which 70 experts participated, 53 winners in 16 nominations were announced. “NIBULON” is among the winners.

 According to a number of experts a large-scale investment project of “NIBULON” which includes construction of its own fleet, river terminals and elevators was named as one of the main achievements in the maritime industry in 2009.

It is not surprisingly that according to the experts’ opinions “NIBULON” has become not only a laureate, but has received an adequate recognition in four rating nominations such as:

 “Renovation of the fleet” – for the construction of non-self-propelled vessels with total deadweight of 108 thousand tons. It should be reminded that at the moment 16 vesselsare already constructed at Mykolayiv shipbuilding yard “Wadan Yards Okean” and by the end of April 2010 fleet will consist of 24 vessels;

“Golden berth”- in this nomination the newly-built (as a part of the project) river terminal in Vitove village (Cherkasy region) was denoted, particularly commissioning of its berth with a length of 311 m and depths of 4 m;

“Absolute growth” - award for increasing cargo turnover in 2009 by 1.5 million tons;

“Growth rate” - for increasing of shipments on water to 50.8% in 2009. Thus “NIBULON” was in advance of one of the industry leaders - the company “TIS”, Port “Pivdennyy” (40,3%) and its Mykolayiv colleagues “Nika-Terra” (21,4%) and Mykmorservis-terminal” (18,1 %).

There is another remarkable result. According to the expert committee’s decision the fourth place in the rate of “Man of 2009 in the water transport industry” was taken by General Director of “NIBULON”, Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Vadaturskyy. The experts noted O. Vadaturskyy primarily “for opposing the attempts to destroy private investors”, “for the construction of elevators on Dnipro River and the construction of a number of cargo vessels, despite the hard resistance of the authorities”, “the development of inland navigation in Ukraine”.

It should be noted that this event was held for the third time and was supported by “Ports of Ukraine” magazine and information-analytical center “BlackSeaTrans”.
As Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Ukraine, Head of State Administration of maritime and river transport Mykhailo Chubay noted “a tradition to identify the best according to the National Maritime rate of Ukraine has already entrenched and has taken its honorable place among the most important annual events in the marine industry”.
