OREANDA-NEWS. April 08, 2010. This year JSC “Sibir-Polymetals” (mining complex of UMMC) expects to resume mine works on Korbalikhinskoye and Stepnoye deposits, which development was suspended because of economic crisis. Budget of the enterprise for 2010 includes assets for implementation of these projects.

In the first quarter of 2010 it is planned to begin pit construction, and at the moment all engineering documentation is done.

To restart the mining of Korbalikhinskoye deposit, UMMC intends to purchase up-to-date equipment under the results of bids with participation of leading world manufacturers of mining engineering.

Note that total investments contributed to the power lines and other objects of Korbalikhinskoye deposit made up about 200 million rubles.

JSC “Sibir-Polymetals” implies to attract both mature specialists of proper qualification and professional skills and beginners to be trained on-site. Thus, it’ll help the region to create new jobs.

Moreover, in 2010, in accordance with approved plan, JSC “Sibir-Polymetals” is going to tap resources of Zarechenskoye deposit. Currently the third level of the deposit is almost exhausted, and mostly mining is conducted on the forth level. In the second quarter it is scheduled to trigger development of the fifth horizon.

Polymetal ore reserves are estimated to be 26 million tons. The ore is rich in zinc. In addition, it contains copper, lead, gold, and silver. The designed capacity of the deposit makes up 800 ktpy of ore. Polymetal ore reserves of Stepnoye deposit account for 800 million tons. Stepnoye’s polymetal ore is composed of copper, lead, zinc, gold, and silver.
