OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2010. Along with creating agro-towns, special attention will be paid in Belarus to the development of large villages, said President Alexander Lukashenko in the course of his working trip to Lyuban District, Minsk Region, reported the Official website president.gov.by.

On Monday the Head of State began a series of working trips to Belarusian regions. In the next few days the President will be visiting the southern regions of the country. Alexander Lukashenko will be working in Minsk, Brest and Gomel regions of Belarus. He will personally examine the progress in the ongoing spring sowing campaign. In addition, in the course of the upcoming on-site meetings the President will discuss each region’s specific problems.

The first stop in the President’s itinerary was Lyuban District, Minsk Region. Alexander Lukashenko visited the private unitary company Tal-Agro and toured the joint-stock company Lyuban Cheese Factory where the focus of attention was the implementation of the comprehensive programme for the development of small and medium-sized urban population centres, investment projects in the sphere of processing of agricultural products and creation of new jobs at the local level.

While touring the private unitary company Tal-Agro the President held an in-depth discussion of the situation with the ongoing spring sowing campaign and of the performance of the agricultural industry in both Minsk Region and the country as a whole.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus, Semyon Shapiro, informed the Head of State that all the difficult issues concerning the spring sowing campaign had been resolved and all districts of the country had commenced sowing.
